Frequently Asked Questions:

Are your services covered by Japan's National Health?

Unfortunately, they are not. However, I can provide you with an invoice with the necessary information (e.g., diagnosis, description of services provided, fees paid) to submit to your company or you insurance company. You will also be provided with evaluation and therapy progress reports to submit to your company or your insurance company with the invoice.

What can I expect as a result of my child’s speech language evaluation?

About a week subsequent to the evaluation date you will receive a comprehensive speech-language evaluation report including your child’s performance on the evaluation tasks, his/her strengths and weaknesses, recommendations, and treatment goals and objectives.

Is teletherapy right for my child?

Teletherapy has been approved by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as an effective method of service delivery and the therapist is highly trained and experienced in the area of teletherapy. However, the therapist can also provide in-person therapy if you feel that teletherapy is not a good fit for your child.

How long will my child attend speech therapy?

Every child is unique and a number of factors will contribute to the therapy duration that your child needs such as type and level of difficulties, existence of additional support, family involvement, and child’s motivation. The therapist will provide you a therapy progress report in every 10 therapy sessions. Then, the family and the therapist will discuss the progress and determine if your child will continue to receive the therapy services.

Testimonials

My daughter has been using Suzuki Speech Therapy for nearly two years and since then we have seen tremendous improvements in her speaking skills, emotional awareness, self-control, and confidence. Misako Suzuki is an excellent speech therapist. Her sessions—both online and in-person—build critical skills with fun, engaging, age-appropriate activities. She also maintains a dialogue with parents to ensure that children are progressing both in therapy sessions and at home/school. Because she speaks both Japanese and English and has experience overseas, Ms. Suzuki not only provides bilingual services, but she also is able to offer a level of cultural-sensitivity that is not always easy for international families to find. If your child struggles with any kind of speech or language issue, I highly recommend Ms. Suzuki’s services. I’m confident that she will go above and beyond to help your child.

Suzuki-sensei is fantastic! We were so lucky to have her help our son improve the communication skills he was struggling with. She's a great educator and her multinational understanding was a huge help. He's shown major improvements over the year we worked together.
A dad of a 12 year-old child
It's been about 5 months since my son started speech therapy and I've seen constant improvement. The classes are fun and and he really seems to enjoy them. Suzuki sensei is also very positive and nice which makes my son feel comfortable as well. These two factors have really contributed to his improvement not only in speech but confidence in himself as well. Even if there's a difficulty my son may be having, I can go to her for advice. She genuinely cares and is really knowledgeable. I am so thankful for having found her!
