Halloween is almost here!
My students love Halloween and telling me about their plans for Halloween.
Today, I would like to share my “Halloween Prepositions Activity.”

Students will learn spatial prepositions through this activity.
Targeted prepositions include: behind, between, in, in front of, next to, on, over, under.

1. Matching Activity:
Students listen to a sentence and find a picture that matches the sentence.

2. Cloze Activity:
Students complete a sentence using an appropriate preposition to describe a picture.

3. Barrier Game: Two students work in pairs on this activity. Place a barrier between the two students so that they cannot see the other’s board. Each student has a set of the materials.
The students take turns giving the other student specific directions in order to match their pictures (e.g., “Put your ghost on the moon.”, “Put your cat under the pumpkin.”). The goal of this game is to have students give and follow directions including spatial prepositions.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Check out the Japanese version of this activity HERE!

Happy Halloween!!
